Worthy Contribution of Professor V. P. Bakhin to the Training and Certification of Highly Qualified Legal Personnel of Ukraine

Abstract

Abstract. The path of formation of Professor V. P. Bakhin as a well-known criminalist, one of the heads of
the Department of Criminology and Forensic Medicine of the National Academy of Internal Affairs
(hereinafter – NAIA). The range of scientific interests of Professor V. P. Bakhin is given, his contribution to
the further development of criminology, promising areas of scientific research proposed by him and their
further development in the dissertation research of his students. The role and contribution of Professor
V. P. Bakhin, as one of the heads of the Department of Criminology, to the development of scientific
research and achievements of the department is considered. It is noted that V. P. Bakhin provided scientific
consulting by preparing eleven doctoral and 40 candidate theses in criminology, he is the only one among
specialists in the specialty 12.00.09. who has such high results. The contribution of V. P. Bakhin‘s students
to the continuation of the development of the areas of forensic research initiated by him at the Department
of Criminology and Forensic Medicine of the NAIA is considered. The object and subject, scientific novelty
and practical significance of dissertation research for the degree of Doctor of Law, carried out under the
scientific advice of V. P. Bakhin, are presented and analyzed. The contribution of the students of Professor
V. P. Bakhin to the areas of scientific research on improving investigative activities and forensic methods of
investigating crimes based on the study of investigative practice is shown.
